At RICN, Ahmedabad we have daily ( Monday to Saturday ) parallel  Paediatric Neurology clinics run by very experienced (experience of more than 15 years in this field) Paediatric Neurologists, for children from birth to 18 years of age. 

It is advisable to take an appointment for one of these in advance by contacting the reception.

We diagnose and manage various Paediatric neurological conditions – common, uncommon and rare. 

The consultations commonly include 

• Epilepsy- we are able to provide all the neurodiagnostics and investigations required for a accurate etiological diagnosis and precise treatment
• Febrile Seizures
• Cerebral palsy- diagnosis, therapy and medical and surgical treatment options can be offered
• Headache – Migraine, Tension headache, secondary headaches etc.
• Behaviour disorders like – ADHD, Autism ( we have a team of psychologist, ABA and OT therapists )
• CNS Infections – Meningitis, Encephalitis ( admission and ICU facilities are available )
• Various genetic disorders – Inborn errors of Metabolism (IEM), Neuroregression disorders, Intellectual disability, Dysmorphism with global delay
• Neuromuscular disorders – like GBS, DMD, SMA, Myasthenia gravis, myopathy etc.
• Stroke- diagnosis, management and therapy can be offered

            Epilepsy surgery and refractory epilepsy clinics –20-30 %  of Epilepsy are drug resistant who can be treated (often cured) with the help of Epilepsy surgery and other non pharmacological options such as ketogenic diet.  We have experts visiting once a month and by appointment review these patients jointly with us to offer the right treatment option.

          Paediatric Neurosurgery clinics –  Neurosurgical disorders like Hydrocephalus, Spinal dysraphism, Brain & Spinal cord Tumor, Moya-moya disease, Craniosynostosis etc. will often need a team of Paediatric Neurologist and Neurosurgeons. Along With a fully equipped neurosurgery theatre we have affiliated surgeons who will assess and operate the patient at RICN. We have visiting Paediatric Neurosurgeons visiting once a month.

          Neurogenetics clinic – Many diseases which were not known to have an underlying cause are being diagnosed to have Genetic etiology/ origin by the tremendous progress in the field of Genetics in the last few years. We have the help of a Consultant Clinical Geneticist visiting RICN. We have facilities for counselling and diagnosing these rare genetic disorders prenatally also which helps in preventing recurrences in the family.   

  Neuromuscular clinics-  Disorders of the muscle, nerve and neuromuscular junctions need a team approach. These chronic disorders can be managed by a team of Paediatric Neurologist, physiotherapist, Geneticist, Cardiologist, Paediatric Orthopaedic consultant and many more working together. We run regular neuromuscular clinics and offer advice and monitoring of these conditions at RICN.
