Emergencies 

Neurological emergencies can happen in the middle of the night and we are sensitive to this fact.

We at RICN deal with a number of emergencies such as sudden onset of seizures and in particular prolonged seizures or status epilepticus, head injuries, stroke, coma or unconsciousness and brain infections such as meningitis and encephalitis.

We have a set up which includes a 8 bedded Child Neurology ICU with 2 ventilators. We have a separate NICU and isolation bay. We have facilities for plasma exchange therapy. Within the same institute we have facilities to perform neurosurgery in emergency if required.

The team includes experienced intensivists and round the clock doctors and nurses. There is the patient benefit of an experienced child neurologist overlooking the 24 hour care of these patients. As a result the hour to hour neurological management of these conditions is ensured for the patient.
